How can I determine which school my children will attend?

Posted by jsdavisnc on December 19th, 2007

Huntersville is part of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System. The system currently uses a “Neighborhood” feed system to determine the primary public school that students are eligible to attend. Huntersville is in District 1 of CMS. You can determine the schools for the district by going to the CMS Website. Typically, students are invited to attend the school the school closest to their home on the same side of Interstate 77. Application to alternates schools follow a prioritized scheme that seems a little complicated to me, but it appears to be on a first come first serve basis using rules to keep the student in the same district. To further complicate matters, there is also a Magnet program that requires an application process. Can someone else explain or clarify the rules for applying to schools other than the primary assigned school? For more information contact me at jeffdavisrealty@aol.com

Where can I get information on Schools in Huntersville?

Posted by jsdavisnc on December 19th, 2007

I recommend two websites that offer good information on the schools in Huntersville. Information about the public school system for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Area can be found at www.cms.k12.nc.us. If you are interested in finding out about private schools in and around Huntersville, go to www.schoolsk-12.com. Or you can contact me directly at jeffdavisrealty@aol.com
