There are over 70 subdivisions in Huntersville, which is makes it impossible to detail the features and amenities of each. The planning board is promoting the development of multi-use neighborhoods with mixed housing, shops, restaurants, entertainment and parks integrated into the plan. The purpose is to create small villages that localize traffic and reduce stress on the major roads. One of the more popular multi-use developments is Birkdale Village. Huntersville suffers from the typical pains of any fast growing city. When a street widens, it often reveals a new bottleneck. The town planners just published a transportation study, which can be viewed at the Huntersville Town Website. .
